Getting started

  • Move Camlune.app to your Applications folder and open it from there — macOS only installs camera extensions for apps in Applications.
  • Allow camera access when asked.
  • Click Install for the virtual camera, then approve it in System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Camera Extensions.
  • In your video app, choose Camlune Virtual Camera as the camera.

Troubleshooting

"Camlune Virtual Camera" doesn't appear in my app

  • Make sure the extension is turned on in System Settings (see above).
  • Quit the video app completely (⌘Q) and reopen it — most apps only look for cameras at launch.
  • For browser-based calls (Google Meet, Teams on the web), quit and reopen the browser.

The virtual camera shows a black or frozen picture

  • Keep the Camlune app open and make sure streaming is on — the virtual camera shows your video only while Camlune is running.
  • Check that the right source camera is selected in Camlune's settings, and that no other app has exclusive use of it.

macOS never asked for camera permission

This can happen if Camlune was first opened from Terminal or Xcode. Quit Camlune, open it from Applications, and if needed enable it under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.

Effects look too strong or too subtle

Use the Intensity slider on any look, or fine-tune individual controls. Good, soft front lighting makes the biggest difference — face a window or a lamp rather than having light behind you.

My Mac feels warm or the video stutters

Switch to Smoothness mode (720p) in Settings, close other camera apps, and turn off effects you're not using, such as background replacement.

Restore a Pro purchase

Open the upgrade screen and click Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with.

Uninstall Camlune

Drag Camlune from Applications to the Trash. macOS removes the camera extension along with the app (you may be asked to confirm).
